My name is Kenley. I started this page to help my nana Teresa’s journey fighting cancer be one step smother! Here is a post from her 🩷 First I want to thank all of you for the many prayers over the past two months. This medical journey I am on has beat me up. Such a roller coaster and I want off! I have tried updating those of you that have been asking and keeping in touch but I am falling behind in reaching back out. As you know this started two months ago when I woke up and couldn't feel my legs and couldn't use them. When I arrived at the hospital they thought stroke and immediately went into action. I had MRI, CT scan, and all the other many test. Fast forward...a lung nodule was found on the MRI and reported as an incidental finding. I was told to follow up with my primary care doctor for that. In the meantime someone called me from the hospital and said a doctor there had seen my MRI and would like to make an appointment for me to come and see him. I go to my appointment to learn that he highly suspects that it is cancer and wants to do a pet scan. Pet scan done and it is confirmed cancer. It is so hard to type that........However, God still works in mysterious ways. Because of an incidental finding on an MRI for something entirely different, my life will be saved. We caught this super early. I will be going on Thursday for surgery to remove a portion of my lung and some lymph nodes in my chest. As scary as this is, it will save me. Yes I am terrified and I have had every emotion and every thought that you could imagine over the past weeks. I go from mad, to sad, to a rage to being thankful. Hard to explain. With that said back surgery had to take a back seat and will be done once I heal from the surgery on my lung. In the mean time I just have to be super careful with my back because I don't want to be paralyzed. Because I know what I felt like when I had no use of my legs and couldn't even tell I had legs, I take it seriously. Now I need your prayers more than ever. I have lived 10 plus years dealing with medical issues and in pain more than not but I push and I push hard. I have grandchildren I need to see grown. Here we go, still on the journey but still determined to make it through it. Prayers are very much appreciated and I appreciate all of you that have been trying to keep up. I am sorry to anyone that has called, text and messaged that I may have not got back to, I see you though.
