Hi, my name is Annie and a lot of you know my big brother Jim or as I call him Jimmy. He is a son, bother, husband, dad, and grandpa and the best at all of them!! I’m starting this fundraiser for my brother after a sudden and life-changing medical emergency. On Friday night, he suffered an unexpected seizure and fell hard enough to rip a bathroom door from its hinges. He was rushed by ambulance to St. Francis, where CT scans and multiple MRIs revealed a sizable brain tumor measuring roughly 27mm. The tumor is pushing his brain out of its normal position — a dangerous situation that requires immediate surgery. He is scheduled to undergo brain surgery to remove the tumor, followed by time in the ICU and a difficult recovery period at home where he’ll need help just to safely walk and regain strength. We won’t know exactly what type of tumor it is until after surgery and biopsy, but brain surgery carries serious risks, including stroke, seizures, and other complications. As overwhelming as this medical crisis is, our family is also facing the reality that he has no health insurance. The cost of emergency care, surgery, hospitalization, and recovery will be significant, along with lost income while he heals. I’m asking for support to help ease this financial burden so he can focus fully on recovery. Any amount — no matter how small — will go directly toward medical expenses and his care.
