Story
Hello from Greg and CoRy (his son) First off, thank you for coming on by and lending a hand. How about a little background before we kick things off? I see no objections. Before we get into the knitty gritty, here is a little bit about our situation and why we made a give-in-kind page. In 2020 I became very ill and since then, my dad and I have been navigating the major lifestyle changes this has brought on. Earlier in October of this year (2024), I needed emergency gallbladder surgery due to Covid inflammation combined with my other complex illnesses. Now, my dad is the definition of selfless and if you have been lucky enough to know him, you know this is true. He has had many roles in his lifetime, but most recently, going on three years now, he has been my caregiver. That's right, a certified caregiver! Applause all around. Well, when it rains it pours; dad's 16 year old knee replacement has decided to give it quits, and he will be having a new one placed Friday, Oct. 25th. And this is where give-in-kind comes in. I am permanently disabled while still being ambulatory. My issues come from debilitating fatigue if I overdo it. It will not be easy to caretake for my dad and we will need a lot of help. Most important, I can no longer drive. We will need help with meals, groceries. Knee surgery recovery is no joke. So, if you can: - Help with groceries = AWESSOME - bring over meals = FANTASTIC - stop by and bring dad some company = WONDERFUL - wanna throw in an Instacart or Amazon gift card for foods and bevs = THAT'S SWELL TOO I cannot overstate how much it means to us that you are willing and able to aid us in this hour of need. If you have any questions, feel free to leave a message. I will update you all as things progress, but for now, we wait. Surgery is bright and ealry at 7:30am. Love to you all, The Wysz Men
