Dear Friends, As many of you know, our sweet Erika has been in the hospital for almost three weeks. On Father’s Day evening, while hosting her eldest daughter’s baby shower, she began to show signs that she was very unwell and not herself. She was rushed to the ER at Baylor Scott & White in Lakeway, and after nearly a week, doctors and specialists were able to diagnose her with Varicella Zoster Meningitis. She was started on an intensive two-week antiviral IV treatment every eight hours. She is scheduled to finish her last round on Thursday or Friday and, hopefully, will be able to come home this weekend. Erika is already feeling much better and remains in great spirits. Your contributions in providing meals for the family will help Erika focus on resting and recovering without the added stress of shopping and cooking. As most of you know, her husband Nima is an ER physician who works many night shifts and often travels to distant ERs, where he stays for 2–3 nights at a time, leaving Erika on her own.
