Steph and Family

Story

Steph was in an accident on Friday, October 3, 2025, and was airlifted to University Hospital in San Antonio. She was later transferred to BAMC for further treatment, where she remained under close care. Since the incident, Stephanie has undergone several procedures and continues to face a long road to recovery. We are now blessed to share that Stephanie returned home on October 31st. While this is a significant and hopeful step forward, she still has several rehabilitation needs. She is currently unable to use her left arm and has difficulty getting around. Stephanie will continue to need a great deal of love, support, and encouragement from her friends and family as she navigates this next phase of healing. Arturo is currently balancing family responsibilities, work, and supporting Stephanie through this challenging time. The family is deeply moved by the outpouring of love and support from their village and cannot express enough gratitude to everyone who has shown kindness and care. They continue to appreciate those who have respected their privacy while still humbly offering help. Given the very hectic schedule and the extended nature of Stephanie’s recovery, generic gift cards for groceries—usable at HEB, Walmart, Amazon, or Costco—are especially helpful and deeply appreciated. These provide the family with flexibility during this unpredictable time and help ease the burden of daily tasks and an unpredictable rehab schedule. Additionally, spacing out meal deliveries over the coming weeks will be incredibly valuable as the family adjusts to ongoing care needs and multiple transitions. Your continued support—whether through meals, groceries, or simply keeping them in your thoughts—means the world to them.

Special Notes

Think about meals that are fit for 4 kiddos. Currently Stephanie cannot use her left arm. Cutting and holding items to prepare food are difficult. She would love help with food meal prep. Easy premade casseroles or prechopped food items to make soups or dishes are helpful. If you want to come help her meal prep she is open to the company as these simple tasks are difficult. But also if you are willing to assist with these food prep tasks and drop pre prepped fruits and veggies off it would make meal prep easier for breakfast, lunches and dinners.
