Cason is a nine-year-old Woodland Park resident and Totowa PAL Tigers football player who has been diagnosed with Hodgkin’s lymphoma. His family gives so much to our community through children’s sports, volunteering their time across multiple teams. Even now, they continue to show up for our kids. I wanted to find a small way to show up for them. The family hasn’t asked for this. I’m putting together Cards for Cason personally because everyday responsibilities don’t pause when a family is navigating something difficult. I’m sure there will be other efforts and plenty of people finding their own ways to help. This collection focuses on one everyday need: meals and groceries. My hope is to take a little of the planning and decision-making off their plate while they focus on Cason. Between treatments, appointments, and making sure he has everything he needs, figuring out dinner is one thing we can help make easier. DoorDash and Instacart gift cards let the family choose what works for them, whenever they need it. You don’t have to give a lot to make a difference. Small contributions can add up to meals covered, groceries delivered, and one less thing to think about. Thank you for helping give back to a family that gives so much to our community.
This is a personal effort I’m organizing to offer a little practical help. If you’d like to contribute, please use the DoorDash or Instacart options in the Wishlist below. Contributions of any size are appreciated and can add up to a meaningful difference for the family.
