Support Dani Post-ACL Surgery

W
Story

For the first time in my life, I'm asking for deep and meaningful help. After a year in which my life turned upside down, completely tearing my ACL back in February 2026 has been the icing on the cake--or rather, the sign that doing things differently is definitely the direction forward. Instead of trying to live life without an ACL, I'm getting it surgically repaired. After nearly a decade in the San Miguel watershed, i.e. Telluride and points west, I'm heading to Vail for surgery on 6/16 at the Steadman Clinic. It's scary to uproot and move to a totally new part of the world when my normal levels of mobility and activity are totally different! This is an incredibly intimidating undertaking just for the sheer amount of logistics: finding housing to recover for a couple of months post-operation and ensuring that said housing has access to physical therapy and rehabilitation is easier said than done in the highly desirable summer months of Colorado. Yet simultaneously, I'm excited: surgery and the post-operative rehabilitation are teaching me that community shows up, that discipline pays off, and that maybe (just maybe) I can come out of the disruptive forces of the last 13 months stronger in mind, body, and soul than ever before. Thank you for being a part of my journey, friends! It means so much more to me than you'll ever know! I am so grateful for you.

Special Notes

Support looks like: - Helping with the meal train, - Joining me on dirt road rambles (walks, hikes, and bikes) when I'm cleared to move AND/OR being my gym buddy, - Inviting me to do Type 1 fun activities like hanging out by a lake, listening to music in the park, going grocery shopping at Whole Foods, inviting me over for a dinner party or BBQ
