Please join us in Supporting Kara’s Recovery. After several months of undiagnosed gastrointestinal symptoms and most recently, neurological issues, Kara was diagnosed with a brain tumor along her brain stem on June 20, 2026. She was taken to MGH Brigham and the tumor was removed on June 28, 2026. After several days in the hospital, Kara was moved to Spaulding Rehab where for more than 2 weeks she re-learned how to stand, walk, speak, and swallow. While she received the highest level of care, Kara still has a long road ahead. Many therapy appoints have been scheduled - the majority of them at Spaulding Rehab in Orleans, MA. Please let us know if you are interested in helping with rides. We would like to start a meal train where once or twice a week a meal for 2 is delivered to Kara’s home. Finally, we have set up a GoFund me page to help cover medical costs as Kara will be out of work for several months.
Food should be moist (sauce, gravy, etc), easy to cut, easy to swallow. No onions.
