Watching the Person I Love Suffer — Please Help My Husband Herschell Michel My name is Dawn Michel , and I’m starting this fundraiser for my husband, Herschell Michel. This is one of the hardest things I’ve ever had to do, because I’m not just sharing a story—I’m watching the person I love suffer every single day, and I feel helpless. Herschell has been medically declared permanently mobility impaired. His condition is not temporary, and it’s something we now have to face for the rest of our lives. He is battling so many serious health conditions at once: Epilepsy with unpredictable seizures Severe muscle and bone pain after each episode Lumbar spinal stenosis causing constant back pain and nerve compression Peripheral polyneuropathy, leaving his legs weak, numb, and in pain Cervical and lumbar radiculopathy Coronary artery disease He had a ST-elevation heart attack (STEMI) An aortic aneurysm Supraventricular tachycardia (SVT) High blood pressure Chronic arthritis Recurrent fainting (syncope) I see what this does to him. After seizures, his entire body hurts so badly he can barely move. There are days he struggles just to stand or walk. His legs give out, his energy is gone, and the pain never really stops. The man I love—who used to be strong and independent—is now fighting just to get through the day. Because of his condition, Herschell can no longer work. That has put us in a devastating financial situation. We are struggling to keep up with even the most basic needs. Right now, we cannot afford: Food Hygiene and personal care items Household utilities Gas medical appointments It breaks my heart to say this, but there are times we don’t know how we’re going to make it through the week. I’m doing everything I can, but it’s not enough—and that’s why I’m asking for help. We are not asking for anything extra—just help to meet basic needs and to give Herschell some level of safety and dignity: His specialist appointments are 160 miles round trip Food, utilities, and daily essentials Ongoing medical care and medications If you can donate, we are deeply grateful. If you can’t, please share this. Even one share could reach someone who can help us. Thank you for taking the time to read our story and for showing compassion during the hardest time in our lives. Sincerely, Dawn Michel
