My mom is scheduled for surgery on October 3rd to remove a mass found next to her ovary. While it’s planned as an outpatient procedure, there’s a chance it may be more complex once the doctors are in there. Either way, her recovery will mean limited mobility for at least 4–6 weeks. On top of this, she is my Dad’s full-time caregiver. My dad isn’t able to get out of bed on his own, so much of his daily care falls entirely on her. During her recovery, everyday tasks like cooking and lifting heavy pots will be especially difficult. Though my sisters and I know she will attempt to do a lot of that anyway, despite the doctor's orders. This is where we can step in. Providing a meal is more than just food on the table — it gives her one less responsibility to juggle, eases her physical strain, and frees up her energy to focus on healing and continuing to care for my Dad. Knowing meals are covered will be a huge relief during this challenging season. We’d love for you to sign up to bring (or send) a meal and help support her recovery. No fish, please. Vegetables are welcome as side dishes, but they prefer them not as the main course. Thank you for your kindness and thoughtfulness — every meal makes a difference. “Carry each other’s burdens, and in this way you will fulfill the law of Christ.” — Galatians 6:2 Your generosity is a beautiful way of living out this principle, and it will bless our family more than words can say.
