Hi. I’m Jill. We used to live across the lagoon from Patty in WMH and Libby Balch and I are organizing this page where we can all pitch in, in any little or big way, to help her through her chemotherapy. If you have any questions, please reach out to me anytime @ 3303533503/[email protected]. I have never used this page before, so please bear with me while I figure it all out. At this point, We are planning for 2 simple meals a week; that way she can use them for either lunch or dinner. An idea was brought up to make extra of whatever meal you would make for yourself that day and set aside a serving or 2 to share. Her dietary needs are under the section “Special Notes”. If any questions at all about food choices, delivery time, etc., feel free to text Patty directly. Libby has supplied disposable/re-useable/safe to reheat in containers available for pick up on her front porch (next to the swing) for friends who will be cooking for her. For friends offering to drive Patty to and from her Chemotherapy appointments the location will be: St. Joseph’s/Candler - Bluffton Campus; The address is 100 Buckwalter Place Blvd., Bluffton, South Carolina 29910. Because of the mixture of chemicals and medications, she is not able to drive herself. *** Patty’s Oncologist has stressed for us all to PLEASE be very aware & cautious, when being around or cooking for Patty of our own allergies or illnesses that may be present. It is extremely important that she not be exposed to anything at all*** Friends are able to sign up to drive her TO or FROM or provide BOTH rides for that specific appointment. She has been told that there is not a lot of room at the infusion center for friends to sit with her for the longer infusion appointments (4 hour +/-sessions) so dropping off and picking up will be ideal. However if you are driving her for the 1 hour infusion you are more than welcome to stay with her or just wait close by until her treatment is complete. Also, when you click on the day you are offering to drive, there will be a place to leave a note if you are taking, picking up or doing both. Patty will receive 1 infusion every 4 weeks, approximately lasting 4-5 hours each (which may be subject to change in length during her 6 months of treatment) and she will additionally receive a 1 hour long infusion every 2 weeks before and after her 4-5 hour infusion appointments. So the 1 hour infusion will take place exactly right in between. Hoping that makes sense. Please reach out with any questions, or look at the calendar for more clarification. These appointments will be added regularly as they aren’t able to be scheduled all at once; So please check back often if you’re wanting to offer rides for Patty.
