Story
After months away in Rochester, MN, my mom, Laurie, is finally coming home from the Mayo Clinic, where she’s been tenaciously fighting through a bone marrow transplant and serious life-threatening complications since October. It’s been an incredibly difficult journey, and now she’s beginning the next chapter: recovery, healing, and reuniting with my dad, Paul. As many of you know, she’s also Paul’s primary caregiver as he lives with Alzheimer’s. Between managing his care and making frequent return trips to Mayo for ongoing treatment, there’s a lot on her plate — and this is where our community comes in. This Give In Kind page is one small way we can show up for Laurie — with love, nourishment, and support during a time that’s both hopeful and hard. If making a meal isn’t your thing, there’s also a link here to contribute to her GoFundMe. The original funds raised through GoFundMe have been used to cover the costs of her long stay in Rochester, medical needs, and travel. As her journey continues, so do the expenses. Any additional help is deeply appreciated and makes a real difference. Thank you so much for being part of Laurie’s village. Please feel free to share this page with others who know and love Laurie and Paul.
