Medical expenses single mom with 2 disabled daughters

Woodstock, AL

Story

My name is Jenny Simpson. I’m a 34-year-old single mom doing my best to raise four beautiful kids, two of whom have disabilities and need me every single day. On June 7, 2025, my world changed in an instant. I fell from my front porch and snapped my right shinbone completely in half. I was rushed to the hospital for emergency surgery, but when the pain subsided, I realized a much deeper fear was setting in: How was I going to take care of my children like this? I came home from the hospital on June 13—but I wasn’t given the tools to recover. No wheelchair. No walker. No medicine. Just bed rest instructions I couldn’t possibly follow. I’m supposed to stay off my leg for 8 weeks or more, but as the only caregiver in my home… rest isn’t an option. Medicaid isn’t covering my hospital stay. I’ve got more surgeries ahead, but no way to pay for them. No home health nurse. No income. And no help. Some days I lie awake in pain, hearing my children in the next room and feeling the ache of not being able to comfort them the way I used to. I am scared. I feel helpless. And still—I’m fighting. For them. If you’re reading this and you’re able to help, your donation would mean the world to me and my kids. The money raised will go directly toward: Medical bills and upcoming surgeries A proper wheelchair and mobility aids Medications and follow-up care Basic needs so I can heal without putting my children at further risk Even if you can’t donate, please share this. Someone you know might be the reason I can walk again… or simply hold my babies without pain. Thank you for reading. Thank you for seeing me. With love and hope, Jenny Simpson
