Our amazing friend Rebecca Bisch has been dealing with a very painful spinal injury since last August. The night before school started, Rebecca went ice skating with her family and took a hard fall directly on her tailbone. The ER initially believed it was only a deep bone bruise, but after months of worsening pain, a specialist later discovered two fractures in her coccyx and another at S1. Since then, Rebecca has tried nearly everything to find relief — steroid injections, epidurals, nerve blocks, dry needling, e-stim, and specialized physical therapy — but the pain has remained constant and unpredictable. Sitting for more than a few minutes can quickly become extremely painful, making everyday things like driving, working, and even enjoying hobbies very difficult. Yesterday Rebecca underwent the first of two radiofrequency ablation procedures in hopes of calming the nerves sending pain signals. Recovery has been tougher than expected, and while relief is expected to come, she is still very much in the healing phase. She goes in for the 2nd procedure in just a week, on next Monday, leaving the downtime minimum while her body is healing. Rebecca is also a devoted mom who has raised a beautifully big family. At one time their household was a lively family of eleven, and while many of the older kids have grown up and moved out, their home is still full and busy. Day-to-day they are a family of five, and on many weekends when her husband’s kids are home, that dinner table grows to eight people. To help make things a little easier while she recovers, we’ve set up this page so friends and family can send a meal, DoorDash delivery, or a small donation toward dinner so Rebecca doesn’t have to worry about cooking. Even one dinner can make a big difference while Rebecca focuses on healing. Thank you for supporting their family during this time.
