Baby Kory has been diagnosed with pyloric stenosis, a condition in which the muscle at the bottom of the stomach is thicker than normal. This makes it difficult for food to pass into the small intestine and causes him to vomit after every feeding. He has been at Children’s Hospital since Monday evening and underwent surgery on Tuesday to correct the condition, after vomiting more than 40 times at the hospital prior to the procedure. While the surgery was meant to bring relief, his recovery has been more difficult than expected, and he is still struggling to keep food down. This has been an emotional and exhausting week for Jordan, Randi, and the entire family as they watch their very small newborn go through such a difficult experience. They are deeply grateful for the prayers, messages, and outpouring of love and support, which have meant more than words can express during this time. Above all, we ask for continued prayers for baby Kory, for Jordan and Randi, and for the rest of the family, as well as for the medical team caring for him. They are hoping for clarity in his condition and for Kory to experience a smooth recovery and brighter, healthier days ahead.
They are continuing to travel back and forth to the hospital and will remain by Kory’s side for as long as he needs them. Jordan’s PTO ends Monday, July 27, and Randi’s extends into the first week of August. During this time, any practical support would be greatly appreciated, including gift cards for takeout or groceries while they are at the hospital, coordinated meal drop-offs once they return home, or help checking in on things around the house while they are away. These acts of kindness will allow them to focus on Kory’s care without the added stress of day to day responsibilities.
