Susan’s fight began with an impromptu visit to the urgent care in 2023 for some random chest pain she was having. That devastating day she was told she had cancer throughout all the bones in her body. This information would cripple most, but she was determined. She made herself a goal to see her baby girl through her senior year, be there for homecoming, prom and make her daughters senior year a great one. She did just that and more. She has survived long enough to see her daughter off to college, see her son become a father and a husband and now is awaiting another grandchild. Susan has endured countless treatments including hormone blockers, surgeries, and so many chemotherapies and radiation treatments that I have lost count. Each day a bit more painful than the last. All the while she still has remained the sweetest and most positive person I know. Last month she was told that her cancer had doubled in size and that they were going to do another round of stronger chemotherapy and radiation. Up to now she has been able to endure the pain without taking narcotics but this round has taken its toll on her. For this reason, please consider helping her and David get through this painful and stressful time by bringing them meals ready to eat, meals they can freeze for a later date, or if you don’t live near them offer a gift card to help out. Let’s extend our arms around Susan and David and show how loved they are!
Please try to keep visits to a minimum as Susan is in a lot of pain. No sick visitors please.
