Supporting Erin's Fight with Cancer

Several weeks ago, during a regular self-examination, Erin discovered she had an unusual lump in one of her breasts. She quickly followed up with a doctor and underwent diagnostic tests, followed by a biopsy that confirmed the presence of breast cancer (Stage 1). Ongoing tests have determined that she will need a double mastectomy and reconstructive surgery (surgery scheduled for October 13th). There is also the potential that she may require more preventative surgeries and additional treatments. While the prognosis is optimistic, this is definitely an invasive surgery that will take several weeks/ months for her to recover from, with subsequent rounds of radiation treatments.
