Families who receive a diagnosis of Mucopolysacchridosis is often left in a shambles know that their child has an incurrable disease. There are 7 different types of MPS and each vary in their severity. A few of the types do have treatment, but that is no cure. Many of the types do not have treatment and this is a long pathway and ends in the same result, early mortality. Children and adults diagnosed have multiple hospital visits, they often have multiple surgeries in their lifetime. Our goal is to collect as many gift cards as we can so that when someone has to go to the hospital and is experiencing financial hardship, we can help.
Fact: often times the only people available to care for their children are family members. This means families lose one income. Single parents struggle enormously.
