Supporting lilly with her return home from the hospital

Mechanicsville, MD

Story

Lilly, my daughter, was in a terrible car accident on Friday she was able passenger in my cousins vehicle when another vehicle went head on and hit them. Lilly was flown out to a great hopsital, at which time she had to undergo a medical procedure that showed lacerations on her liver. She had to have some of her intestines taken out. Her duodenum has wrapped around so because of that one Wednesday the 4th they will run dye through her to make sure the surgery went ok if it did they will start foods through her feeding tube and see if she is able to tolerate it. She has a broken collar bone, broken nose, and broken spine. She can not have any food or drinks until they can test her intestines to see how the surgery went, but she is in a lot of pain. She was given a nerve blocker during her surgery to help with the pain so yesterday ( Sunday ) she was able to do more activities and that has now worn off so she is not as active and the pain specialist comes in daily and has increased her pain medication. Her eye is severely bruised and swollen. The blood vessels have popped, and she has a slight scratch, which they are hoping will heal on its own. We will continue to follow up with the eye doctors. Her scar from surgery goes from the bottom of her stomach to the top she has several staples and will permanently have a scar. She has several cuts and bruises. One of the cut on her legs is very deep and severe they have it wrapped, so it does not get an infection. She has a very severe concussion, and she does not remember being in an accident. I have had to remind her several times of the accident i dont go into details as i dont want it to interfere with her recovery. She has a little bleeding inside her head, which is to be expected. She has a long physical road ahead of her, but she is fighting and trying her best to get out of bed and fight through the pain. As a mom, I worry about the mental state this traumatic accident is causing her. She has several physic doctors that she is seeing while in the hospital and will continue to follow up with a local physic once she gets home. Thank you all for your thoughts, love, and prayers for my girl
