Support for the Davis Pearce Family

Little Compton, RI

Story

Dear friends and family, As many of you know, Maggie has been living with neurofibromatosis (NF1). Recently, we learned that she has a non-cancerous tumor on her optic nerve, called an optic nerve glioma. Over the past few weeks, she's had numerous appointments at Boston Children’s Hospital and Dana Farber Cancer Institute, where the incredible team at their NF Clinic has been providing Maggie with expert care for years. To treat the tumor, Maggie will have to undergo weekly chemotherapy infusions. This means traveling to Boston every week for her treatments for the next few months. Thankfully, her doctors believe she should still be able to attend school and participate in her regular activities. The hope is that the tumor shrinks and her vision stabilizes, with about a 70% chance of stability or improvement. While we’re hopeful that things will remain as normal as possible, we know this journey will come with challenges. We are so grateful for the love and support from everyone near and far.
