Keswick family support

Story

At the end of February, Tom was diagnosed with high risk prostate cancer, meaning the cancer cells are much more aggressive and more quickly become metastatic to the bones. It took about two months for Tom to complete all the scans and appointments that he needed to set-up a treatment plan. Just last week, the treatment of radiation and long-term ADT hormone use (a difficult and life changing treatment) was decided upon and was meant to begin this week. However, over the last weekend of April he had to rush to the ER. After many tests, it was determined that he would need open heart surgery to replace two heart valves. The surgery will take place on May 7th. The layering of these medical crises is unbelievable and extremely overwhelming. Tom will require a tremendous amount of care after his open heart surgery. The cancer treatment will begin a few weeks into his surgery recovery in order to not delay the cancer treatment for too long; the overlapping of the treatment during recovery will make this much more challenging for Tom and our family. Our daughter Coral is 9 years old and requires full care, which he will be unable to help with for at least 10 - 12 weeks. We also have two sons, Tate (12) and Cruz (5), who need our care. We are so grateful for the love, prayers, and support we have already received. We are asking for donations of meals, help with watching Coral, monetary donations towards hiring caregivers for Coral, grocery drop-off, gift cards, taking our boys for an afternoon or weekend day, and help with transportation for the kids. These things will allow Elaine to be able to support Tom in his recovery and treatment, while being the main care provider for all of the kids. Your generosity also helps Tom to be able to focus on his recovery, without worrying about the well being of Elaine and his kids. From the bottom of our hearts, thank you! Tom, Elaine, Tate, Coral and Cruz
