From August 2022: Itbreaks my heart on so many levels to create this post. Unfortunately after almost 5 years, my breast cancer has returned in my liver and my bones. I have been sick for the last few months and have now confirmed the cause. I am currently in the hospital but hopefully will go home tomorrow. As the first time around, my amazing oncologist has equipped us with a game plan and began prepping us for the battle ahead. It’s a harder fight this time, but we have a plan that we will take step by step. Dr Brandes is the most amazing man/doctor. He’s the biggest blessing I could’ve ever asked for. Our kids are older this time. They will understand more but we will protect them from unnecessary details. They will understand that I am sick and back in treatment. I ask that our friends and family keep it at that level as well. They will see our faith in God and doctors. They will see #grimeswarriormode in full force again. Present: Enhertu has been a game changer chemo. I made it almost 2.5 with no progression but not an in radiation treatment for a spot on my brain. Chemo continues, 5 doses of radiation, then we continue with chemo and monitor. I am currently still working full time and blessed with a job that helps others and allows me to adjust my schedule on days I need to work from home.
We are doing well with grocery supplies. Some days it’s hard to have strength to cook full meals especially when my husband is working. We would appreciate food delivery cards for tiring days. Housework honestly is the hardest. Any help towards that area would be a major help. Before the brain issue emerged, we got a new puppy to help with a sense of normalcy for me and the kids. We so rarely get normal. I could also use some help with training classes for him.
