After over 2 years in pain, I have decided to move forward with the surgery I was trying to avoid. On October 13, 2026 I will have 2 discs replaced in my lumbar spine with prosthesis. I will spend 2 to 3 days in the hospital before coming home to heal for at least 6 weeks. My goal is to be all better and ready to walk Abigail down the aisle in April! If you know us, you know we have an urban farm, so my family has to pick up my portion of farm and house chores. While John does already do most of the cooking, I hope that if we can have friends bring food in the beginning it will take some of the pressure off of John and Abby.
I have an insane amount of allergies! All of my allergies are from ingestion. The kitchen does not have to be sterile from these things. Eggs - but I can eat things made with eggs just not eggs by themselves. Peanuts Tomatoes Corn Melon Wheat and soy have to be kept to a minimum, but a little bread does not hurt me, I just can’t over do it with wheat. I am diabetic, so really focus on eating a lot of protein. I love chicken, pork and read meat. Dairy is fine and you cannot go wrong with cheese! Potatoes and rice are also good options for me.
