Supporting Tabby Through A Time of Grief.

Eugene, OR

Story

Help Tabby (They/Them) make sure that they are caring for/feeding themselves during this time of immense loss. Their Story: On the evening of May 6th around 7:30pm we received a phone call from our father that he called 911 due to having chest pains and my sister and I rushed to the hospital to make sure he was okay. If you know our dad, you might know he had been dealing with a multitude of health problems for decades, one of them being congestive heart failure. So anytime dad had heart stuff going on, it was a big deal for our family. But if you know our dad, you also might know he liked to joke and say he was a cat that had 9 lives because he would always end up being fine in the end. Unfortunately, this time he was not fine in the end. Our father passed away at 12:40am on Friday, May 9th due to heart failure…not even 72 hours after being taken to the hospital. Our dad was the funniest guy and the smartest guy in the room, always. If he couldn’t make you laugh, he was probably going to teach you something about your electrical or your house that you didn’t know but would save your ass on some random Monday in the future. Our father was truly one of the most generous people you would ever meet, and I think any of you reading this can attest to that statement. If you needed someone you could always call him, and he would either fix what you needed or he would find you someone who could. That is the kind of dad he was too, someone we knew we could always lean on when we needed him. Especially in the last 5 years of our lives, as we lost our mother in January of 2020. Now, at the ages of 30 (Meagan) and 28 (Tabby) we have lost both our parents and all but one of our grandparents.
