Money for Mochi With A Horrible Case Of "Happy Tail"

Story

Monday 12/15 we noticed Mochi wouldn't stop licking the tip of his tail. It was red and inflamed. Tuesday we took him to the vet. She said it was a case of Happy Tail Syndrome where he whacked it on something so hard that he injured it. She prescribed an anti-inflammatory and sent us home. The moment we walked in the door, the tip of Mochi's tail FELL OFF. I immediately called the vet and they told us to bring him back in. The vet said there was a chance the wound could heal on its own, but we'd need to keep it bandaged and Mochi away from it. In most cases the tail needs to be amputated to properly heal. They bandaged it up and prescribed antibiotics. On the way home Mochi got the bandage off. As soon as we got home we put a "cone of shame" on him and rebandaged his tail. He was still able to reach it and got the bandage off again. So I went to the pet store and bought the biggest cone they had. We put the new cone on immediately only to discover later that night that he could STILL get the bandage off. We are now looking at amputation and have no feasible way of paying for it. We absolutely HATE doing this, but we are asking for your help. Any amount makes a difference. There is a link to my Venmo, or you can contact me to donate via another method. We are looking to raise $2000 to cover the cost of the surgery and after care. Thank you in advance, Bree & Julie
