Our sweet Jubilee Larkin entered this wonderful world at the end of February. In utero, she was diagnosed with VSD. A Ventricular Septal Defect (VSD) is a hole in the wall between the two lower chambers (ventricles) of the heart. It's a common heart problem present at birth (congenital heart defect). Small VSDs may close on their own, others may lead to complications. After several weeks at home, Jubilee had an increasingly harder time eating and breathing. Since then, there have been many doctor visits and hospital stays, resulting in her current admission at Seattle Children's Hospital for heart failure. It was determined this week that the interventions have been insufficient, and that she needs to undergo heart surgery. Hannah and David have been an incredible team with such great hope and faithfulness through this hard and scary time. Their girls back home have been very brave and show such gratitude for the extra play dates and visits from family. And our sweet Jubilee has been living up to her joy-filled name. We want to do everything we can to lift up their whole family whether we live down the road or on the other side of the world.
