Support for Coach Massey's Family

Story

From Collette's sister: As many of you may have heard, on 7/12/2026 Collette and a friend were involved in a multi vehicle collision. She was taken to a community hospital with substantial internal bleeding and injuries. After Collette was stabilized enough for transport she was life flighted to a trauma center for immediate surgery to repair damage to her aorta, lung, stomach, bowels and abdominal cavity. After a short recovery period, she underwent another round of surgery to her vasculature to stabilize her aorta and the first surgery to repair a compound fracture to her elbow. She is alert, responsive, and her vitals are strong. Her medical team is optimistic that this means she did not sustain any major injuries to her brain or spinal cord, but she still needs a procedure to place a stent in her aorta, as well as surgery to repair multiple additional fractures to her elbow, clavicle, and pelvis. on 7/14/26 Collette was able to be extubated and is breathing on her own despite having a damaged lung and several cracked and bruised ribs. She will need to receive nutrition by way of an NG tube while she continues to heal internally. Over the course of the next several weeks she will need additional surgeries and procedures and will need to remain hospitalized until she is stable enough to be sent home, after which she will need many weeks of rehabilitation before she is able to bear weight on her legs or walk again. All financial support will be used to help offset medical expenses, reduce burden of lost wages, and for additional financial costs including housing, meals, and transportation for her husband Brock and their children while she is hospitalized.

Special Notes

Right now donations and gift cards for gas or food will be the most helpful! As we have more details and information once Brock is at home more and Collette is doing better we can arrange for meals and anything else they may need.
