Love and support for Cece & co.

Plymouth, MI

Story

In early January, Cece discovered a lump in her breast. She already had an appointment scheduled with her doctor the following week and, like many would, hoped it was simply a hormonal change after recently weaning Juliette from breastfeeding. At that visit, her doctor ordered a mammogram. The results came back with a BI-RADS score of 5, and that’s when the fear truly set in. A biopsy was scheduled for the following week. The days leading up to it were filled with anxiety, bracing for news that might be difficult while still holding tightly to hope. The biopsy confirmed HER2-positive breast cancer — a diagnosis that came as a shock to Cece, to Neil, and to everyone who loves them. We created this page to surround Cece and her family with support so they can focus fully on treatment, healing, and time together. If you feel moved to give, send a note, or share encouragement, it will mean more than words can say. Thank you for loving Cece, and for walking alongside her in the days ahead.

Special Notes

We have received an overwhelming amount of love and support for Cece. I have added a Cold Cap fund for Cece so she can cover the costs of Cold capping during chemo. Cold Capping significantly reduces the amount of hair loss. To say Cece is picky is an understatement! Your kindness means the world, and while any gesture will be most appreciated, restaurant or delivery gift cards would be especially helpful and take the pressure off the family. If you’ve walked this road before, we would love to learn from you. As Cece begins the year ahead of chemotherapy and navigates its side effects, any tips, comfort measures, or words of encouragement you can offer would mean so much. And as Neil supports Cece every step of the way, we also welcome advice on how to care for and encourage him, too. The role of caregiver can be heavy, and your experience, prayers, and practical suggestions can make a real difference for them both.
