On the night of Saturday, November 15, Andrew’s life changed in an instant. While walking home from work in the Houston Heights, he was struck by a car in a hit-and-run accident. The driver did not stop, and Andrew is currently working with the police as they investigate. As of now, there are no updates on the person responsible. Andrew suffered severe injuries, including a broken femur (now stabilized with a rod), eight broken ribs, punctured lungs, and a broken clavicle — all on the right side of his body. His recovery will be long, painful, and full of challenges, but he is fighting through with strength and determination. If you know Andrew, you know how much heart he brings into everything he does — especially his work. He is a Sous Chef at Jane and the Lion Bakehouse, and his passion for food runs deep. He loves learning about ingredients, techniques, and the stories behind dishes. The kitchen is where he comes alive. Originally from Iowa, Andrew is still new to Houston and does not have a large support system here. And yet, in such a short time, he has become incredibly loved by his community, coworkers, and friends. That’s why we’re coming together now — to lift him up the way he has lifted others.
