Most of you already know, but for those who do not, one of our beloved AYB family members, Dennis Hill, is battling Myelofibrosis. Myelofibrosis a rare type of blood cancer that Dennis has just received a stem cell transplant for. Dennis has been a part of AYB for the past eight years, starting in T-ball and most recently serving as a board member. He is also a proud Army veteran who served and protected our country. Dennis was admitted to the hospital about two weeks ago. He is expected to remain there for another 2 weeks while undergoing the transplant & the proper medical care needed. Once he is able to return home, it may take an additional 3–12 months for his immune system to fully rebuild. During much of this time, he will be homebound to reduce the risk of infection. While Dennis is focusing on his recovery, his wife, Amy, will be balancing frequent trips to the hospital while caring for their two children. Because of the significant financial impact this journey will have on their family, we have started a “Helmet for the Hills” fundraiser. Every dollar donated will go directly to the Hill family in the form of cash or gift cards to help with whatever needs arise. We have also created this Give InKind site asking if anyone would like to help provide their family a meal. This would immensely help Amy after her very long & busy days. If you would like to make a home cooked meal, order them take out or even send a gift card for dinner please sign up! If you would like to make a monetary donation you can directly through Venmo or PayPal with the attached links. Dennis and his family have given so much to the AYB community over the years. Now it’s our turn to support them. If you have any questions, please feel free to reach out to me directly. I greatly appreciate everyone's support. Sincerely, Eric Vanyo 724-4I7-3361
