Amy is a kind, loving, caring woman who has a strong faith and a great sense of humor… Her laugh is so infectious that you can’t help but laugh with her. She is also a strong woman who keeps going no matter what life throws in her path! She is also a 1x breast cancer survivor and has been in remission for a few years now. Unfortunately, Amy recently received news that she has double breast cancer and is scheduled to have surgery on September 27th. Amy is also a “giver”, she would much rather give than receive & "gives of herself" to many people! Because she is such a giver, if you ask her what she needs she may not tell you & sometimes is uncomfortable asking for help… so I decided to create this site, with Amy’s permission. This site will let you know about Amy's needs, list updates about her health journey, sign up for help when needed and allow you to leave messages for her. *Note for privacy sake, please do not share this link publically, especially on social media… If you are in Bible Study or another type of group with Amy it can be shared within the group, as long as you give instructions not to share publically. Thank you. How can YOU support Amy? *Note: We understand that everyone has their own God-given gifts and there are hard times for many people. So in helping Amy, we don’t want you to stretch beyond your personal, physical, and financial abilities. Please read all of the following & then find the area or areas that best fits you. A) First & Foremost: PRAY for Amy Pray for strength, endurance, peace, wisdom, and guidance plus healing physically, emotionally & spiritually. She has had family members pass away from cancer and another family member that is currently terminal, so keep this in mind when you pray. *Note: Amy is ok with you sharing her need for prayer with your church's small group and/or with the Pastors… When asking for prayer say “Amy or Amy S. needs prayer for Cancer Healing”, however, please do not share prayer requests publically, especially on social media. B) Support her Personally: 1) Encourage Amy: Call Amy between now & the day before surgery to give a kind word, pray with her, and share a Bible verse to hold on to. Also, send her messages here on this site (see the blue button) and texts to let her know you are sending her hugs, love & prayers. 2) Send her Cards: Sept 18th is Amy’s Birthday, so let's send her a “shower of birthday cards”!! See below for her monetary needs & pick from the list if you are able. See the calendar & press "gift cards" for the address to send cards & the "I can help" button. C) Monetary Needs: In addition to surgery and seeking out medical professionals… Amy would also like to add a holistic approach to assist her body. 1) FOOD: Instead of asking for meals to be delivered we are asking for organic groceries delivered or gift cards sent for shopping. See below for a list of gift cards. See the "Special Needs" section for a shopping list of organic foods. Please sign up for purchasing groceries by pushing the "I can help" button! 2) Support with Vitamins & Minerals: naturessunshine.com/recommended-products/579961/6f169936f16993e/?sid=579961&offer=NSP Use the above link to purchase Amy's Favorites. 3) Gift Cards (listed in order of importance): Visa, ShopRite, Vitamins (see above), Lidl, Trader Joe's, Aldi's. Gas for car: BP gas station A Fundraising site was considered, but due to charges and privacy concerns it has been decided that Gift Cards are the best means of "raising funds". There aren’t many of the local stores listed on this "Give InKind" site so we are listing them here. Cash is welcomed as well. Please do not give a check. 3) Personal Support: A) Helper Visitors Amy will be very limited to movement after surgery and needs some helpers after surgery to do little things like making tea, warming up food, and bringing personal items. It will be added to the schedule after surgery. Also to sit pray & encourage Amy while her husband takes a break. B) Food Thank You so much for joining me in supporting Amy in her journey! Please give enter your email address to "Give in Kind" so that you can receive updates! Many Blessings, Shirley K
