Supporting Rachel Jenks

Atlanta, GA

Story

In the spring of 2025, Rachel was diagnosed with breast cancer, beginning a challenging journey that has already included two surgeries. She now faces 12 weeks of chemotherapy (beginning on June 4th), followed by one more major surgery. Through it all, Rachel has shown incredible strength and resilience. Her chemotherapy sessions will take place weekly on Wednesdays, and her doctors have advised that the side effects will be most intense 48 to 72 hours afterward. For this reason, we are kindly requesting meals for the weekends, when she is likely to feel her worst and extra support will be especially helpful. We have created this site to offer guidance to her loved ones on meaningful ways they can support her during this difficult time. As we learn more about Rachel’s needs throughout her treatment, updates or changes will be made. For any questions related to this page, please reach out to Sahra Jabbehdari at 770-355-8320 or sahrajabbehdari@gmail.com. Thank you!

Special Notes

Thank you so much for your kindness and generosity in offering to provide meals. It truly means the world to Rachel during this time. To help support recovery and manage treatment side effects, we’re following a lighter, more digestion-friendly diet. If you're planning to bring a meal or order one for delivery, we’d be so grateful if you could keep these guidelines in mind: - Please avoid: fried foods, heavy cream sauces, dishes cooked in butter - Preferred cooking methods: baked, grilled, or poached proteins; steamed, roasted, or sautéed vegetables (with olive oil if possible) - Examples we love: baked chicken or fish, turkey meatballs, vegetable soups, brown rice or quinoa dishes, roasted or steamed vegetables, fresh fruits Thank you again for your support!
