This page has been created to help support our friend, Jen, a woman whose strength, resilience, and determination have inspired everyone around her. We will share updates on her treatment and care for all those who love her. Please consider showing your love and support in whatever means you have available: financially, through donations and gift cards, as well as sharing your well wishes, and prayers. The need for all is great and she would ever be appreciative of any. For those who may not know, this is her story: In late 2025, Jen was diagnosed with endometrial cancer. After meeting with her medical team, she was hopeful that surgery would remove the cancer and allow her to move forward without additional treatment. In May 2026, she underwent a hysterectomy expecting to put this chapter behind her. Unfortunately, life had other plans. Following surgery, Jen received devastating news. What was believed to be an early-stage cancer was actually Stage III cancer that had spread beyond her uterus. Despite successfully removing all visible cancer during surgery, she was told she would need chemotherapy to fight the disease. Since beginning treatment, Jen has faced the physical and emotional challenges that often accompany cancer: surgery recovery, chemotherapy, fatigue, infections, neuropathy, and countless doctor's appointments. Throughout it all, she has continued to fight with remarkable courage. What many people don't see is the financial burden that comes with a cancer diagnosis. Because Jen did not have disability coverage, extended time away from work has resulted in significant lost income. At the same time, medical expenses from surgery, chemotherapy, medications, testing, and ongoing care continue to accumulate. The financial burden is made even more difficult, as she is solely supporting her household of three. Through this all, she still remains optimistic. She recently wrote: There are moments when I feel like cancer has taken pieces of my life that I never agreed to give away, my health, my sense of security, my ability to work normally, my financial stability, my confidence in my body, and sometimes even my ability to imagine the future without fear. But there is something cancer has not taken from me. My desire to live. I am still here. I am still fighting. I am still hoping. I am still trying to find pieces of the woman I was before cancer while discovering a strength in myself that I didn’t know existed. I don’t know exactly what the next chapter will bring. I don’t know how long recovery will take or what life after treatment will look like. But I know that my story did not end with the words “Stage III.” It did not end with surgery. It did not end when I lost my hair. And it will not end with the fear that has followed me through this journey. This is my story. I was shocked. I was terrified. I fell apart. But I am still here. And I am not finished yet.
Meals are not needed at this time, as her mother, Felicia, has been an amazing caregiver and has been cooking for the three of them. If choosing gift cards as your generous contribution, please consider cards that will replace items in their budget: gas cards to get them to treatment, Walmart and Publix gift cards to purchase groceries. Thank you!
