Transitional Living Program

Story

KVC Missouri’s Transitional Living Program (TLP) is a vital initiative that helps youth transition from alternative care to self-sufficiency by providing a safe and structured environment. The program focuses on equipping youth with essential life skills, fostering positive relationships, and supporting their growth in areas like education, employment, and independent living. Safe Living Environment: Two homes in Columbia, MO (one for boys and one for girls), each housing up to eight youth aged 16–20. Skill Development: Staff focus on academic achievement, job readiness, independent living skills, and youth leadership opportunities. Case Management Support: Assistance with daily living activities, employment, education, transportation, and medical care. Transition to Scattered Sites Program: Continued support for youth as they move into apartment living, with services like case management, employment, education, and medical assistance.
