Supporting the Pilchman Family

Story

Surrounding Our Family with Love and Support Our family is walking through an incredibly difficult season, and we are so grateful for the love, prayers, and support of our church community. My dad has advanced Parkinson’s disease and recently spent 10 days in the hospital battling a severe urinary tract infection. He is currently in rehabilitation, but unfortunately, he has made very little progress. Next week, he is expected to return home with hospice care, where our family will focus on keeping him comfortable and surrounding him with as much love as possible. Throughout this journey, my mom has been Dad’s full-time caregiver, loving and caring for him through the many challenges of his disease. As Dad comes home, his care needs will be greater than Mom can manage on her own. We want to make sure she has the support she needs, both to care for Dad and to take care of herself during this incredibly emotional and exhausting time. We have created this page to organize volunteer help from our church family and friends. Whether it’s sitting with Dad for a little while so Mom can rest, helping with meals, running an errand, or simply offering companionship and encouragement, every act of kindness will make a meaningful difference. We know that everyone has different schedules and abilities, and there is no expectation to do more than you can. Even a small amount of time or a simple gesture of support can help lighten Mom’s load and remind her that she is not walking this road alone. Most of all, we ask for your continued prayers for Dad’s comfort and peace, for strength and rest for Mom, and for our entire family as we navigate this next chapter. Thank you for loving our family so well. We are deeply grateful for this community and for the many ways you continue to be the hands and feet of Christ to those who need it most.
