Supporting David Bass

Bonifay, FL

Story

As most of you know, back in October 2023, David Bass received the diagnosis of stage 4 metastatic prostate cancer, with metastasis into the bones located in several areas throughout the body. David underwent intense radiation, chemotherapy, bone strengthening treatments, and hormone therapy that suppressed the cancer cells for a time. In January of this year, 2026, David started having symptoms that lead to the diagnosis in February of a large mass located on his spine that put so much pressure on the thoracic spine region that it caused paralysis of the lower extremities. David was unable to walk and could not lay flat without having severe excruciating pain. At the end of February, David underwent spinal surgery to remove the cancerous mass from T5, T6, and T7 of the spinal region and repair the spinal injuries that the pressure of the mass caused. After spending several days in ICU, he then was transferred to a hospital room for a continued stay with occupational and physical therapy. He is now in a rehabilitation center receiving intense occupational and physical therapy. David has come a long way from where this journey started. His time at the rehabilitation center is coming to an end, and he will be discharged home with home health for occupational and physical therapy, as well as nursing services. At this time, David is able to transfer himself independently with a transfer board to and from the wheelchair/hospital bed, etc. Although he is unable to stand or walk at this time, we pray with the continued intense therapy, he will regain his ability to be fully ambulatory again. He will soon begin the second round of IV chemotherapy and radiation therapy to go along with his continuous oral chemotherapy, bone strengthening treatments, and hormone therapy. With all this said, we are asking for prayers of healing, prayers of strength, and prayers of guidance. Your gift is much appreciated, and will be used for the expenses that have accrued and continue to accrue during this difficult time. Thank you so much in advance! Much love to you all! ❤️
