Hello, my name is Deeva. I was happy once, but over the last almost 2yrs my life has turned completely upside down. My husband of 14 yrs (who was already my caregiver) suddenly got sick in Nov 2024, he was diagnosed with HSV1, Encephalitis, a Retinol Detachment, and HIV/Aids (doctors believe it had been lying dormant in his system for about 15yrs). I was diagnosed with HIV a few weeks later. Although doctors said he had a long road to recover, it was possible. We where making a plan for him to come home. They warned us that due to the Encephalitis that he will forget how to do basic things sometimes and certainly things may not work properly from time to time, but he could recover. He forgot how to eat so we put him on a feeding tube. The second night after he was on a feeding tube I arrived as usual at the hospital the next morning only to find him drowning in tube feed. He had been drowning for 12 hrs. The hospital immediately started covering it up by saying he came down with a case of pneumonia. He ultimately had to be put on a respiratory the next night. I was told that he could be on the respiratory for 14days but the hospital made me take him off after a few days. He passed away in Jan. 2025. In May my slumlords who I was already fighting against before my husband got sick had a friend who was a judge. He ordered me to move out in 2 weeks, he said the owners have done nothingwrong after about 5 min in court.(the property had over 40 violations). I spent several months homeless. Now I have a apt and due to a mental breakdown and all the physical illnesses my rent is paid, but because my rent is so high I get no other benefits except medicaid. My Disability case has already been denied once, current case is pending. I am also getting help with my mental health. I currently have no food or money to get food, household supplies, and pay my wifi bill, feed my ESA dog and my 2 turtles. Please help.
