Meals for Mark and Megean Poirier and family

Malone, NY

Story

As many of you know, Marcus Poirier is your typical 11-year-old boy who loves his family, friends, sports, video games, and being active. What first seemed minor quickly turned into a life-changing diagnosis — **Leukemia**. Since Marcus was urgently hospitalized, his mom, Megean, has not left his side and has been out of work. His dad, Mark, is doing everything he can to be there for Marcus while also traveling back and forth to care for their other children, who are currently staying with family. Between hospital stays, tests, treatments, and caring for four other kids, their world has been turned completely upside down. Marcus has already gone through extensive testing, had a PICC line placed, and has started his first round of chemotherapy, which is expected to last at least a month. Doctors have shared that his road to recovery could take around three and a half years if all goes well. After his first chemo treatment, he also developed a blood clot and now needs twice-daily injections. Through it all, Marcus is bravely fighting with his parents right beside him. Right now, the Poirier family is facing emotional, physical, and financial stress — but one of the biggest day-to-day needs is simply **meals**. To help organize the chaos and truly support them in a practical way, a **Meal Train (Meal in Kind) page** has been created. This allows friends, family, and community members to sign up to bring meals on specific days so the family knows what to expect, and it prevents everyone from bringing the same things — giving them some variety and one less thing to worry about during an incredibly overwhelming time. Supporting this family isn’t just about donations — it’s about showing up in the ways that matter most right now. A home-cooked meal, a gift card for food, or simply sharing this page can make a huge difference. If you know Megean and Mark, you know how generous and kind their hearts are and how often they’ve helped others. Now it’s our turn to surround them with that same love and support as Marcus fights this battle. Please consider signing up to bring a meal, sharing this with others, and keeping Marcus and the entire Poirier family in your thoughts and prayers. Every act of kindness — big or small — truly helps.
