Support Xavier after Traumatic Brain Injury

W
Story

Support for Xavier & Family Xavier was recently in an unexpected car accident that resulted in a serious injury and hospitalization. He was placed in a medically induced coma for five days and is now stable, but recovering from a traumatic brain injury. He is just days out of the hospital and transitioning off heavy sedation and medications, which comes with many challenges. His recovery journey will be long, requiring intensive rehabilitation - approximately 6 to 9 hours per day - for the next several months. Xavier is now home with his wife, Kelly, and their baby, Marzia. At this time, Kelly is caring for both of them full-time while navigating this overwhelming season. While financial support toward expenses like a rental car (their vehicle was totaled), medical bills, and living costs is deeply appreciated, there are also very practical, day-to-day ways to help lighten the load. Current Highest Needs: • Weekly grocery deliveries • Easy, ready-to-go meal drop-offs • Morning childcare support for Marzia (6:30 AM – 8:30 AM) so Kelly can focus on getting Xavier ready for rehabilitation They eat very clean and simple, so takeout options are limited (Mother’s Market is one of the few options). Doorstep drop-off is preferred for all deliveries. Grocery List: • Organic unsweetened soy milk • Organic red apples (1 bag) • Organic chickpeas (5 cans) • Organic spinach • Organic broccoli or asparagus (rotating) • Brown cage-free eggs (2 dozen) • Organic blueberries • Organic blackberries • Organic frozen berries • Lentils (1 bag) • Sweet potatoes (every other week) • Sourdough bread • Whole wheat tortillas • Unscented wipes • Bumbum diapers size 6 (every other week) • Refill 3-gallon water jug Homemade Meal Ideas: (Eggs, butter, and real milk are okay when cooked in meals) • Quiche • Burrito kits (black beans, chickpeas, spinach, whole wheat tortillas) • Pre-made freezer meals using approved ingredients above If you’re able to help in any way - big or small - it truly makes a difference during this time. Thank you for surrounding this family with love, care, and support.
