My mom is currently facing a serious medical situation. She has a large mass growing in her throat that is progressing rapidly. It is located near a nerve and is partially blocking her airway, so it needs to be addressed as soon as possible. She is being treated at the Huntsman Cancer Institute, and doctors need to perform another biopsy urgently, as the first one was inconclusive. Although this is not confirmed as cancer, the surgery required is invasive and serious. Because it isn’t classified as cancer at this time, she does not qualify for assistance programs like gas cards. However, the frequent trips for appointments, biopsies, and upcoming procedures have created a significant financial strain, especially for gas and food while traveling back and forth.
