Hi everyone 👋 I've never asked for help before, I've always been the one helping. I'm trying this to see if the good karma comes back in our time of need. Thank you in advance for taking the time and consideration in reading my story. Simplified: My job ended in mid-June because all public schools went on Sunmer recess. In the meantime, I was applying for jobs-daily and interviewing while fighting against the A.I recruiters to get a shot. I'm still in that process but it is looking brighter! Tomorrow, I have an interveiw for a great opportunity with a reputable company. Sadly, four days ago my husband was laid off from his job and since he was a 1099 contractor who was working for a company that held a contract with x business....he doesnt qualify for unemployment. He has had multiple interveiws everyday, since. We live in Central NJ and we are watching our electric bill double and do backflips on top of this. All I'm asking for is help to get through the month. Our honest breakdown: Rent: $1,010 Electricity: $280 Propane (cooking): $150 Heating Oil: $1,200 gets us through the winter My cell phone: $38 His cell phone: $35 Internet: $95 Groceries: (2 adults, 1 dog): $85-240 per week (cook x6 days a week) Car insurance: $250 [2 used owned vehicles] Gas: $35 fills my tank/$55 fills his tank I know there are good humans out there.
