Story

Update: As of 5/29 everyone is home.Everyone is adjusting to this big life change. Update: Megan continued to have high blood pressure and preclampsia and remained in the hospital for 8 more days. Baby Sage developed jaundice and stayed in the hospital NICU for a couple of days with a total of 9 days in the hospital. Kyle and I would like to introduce you to Sage AnnMarie Graham. Born May 21, 2026 at 08:43pm after only being at the hospital for an hour and a half. 6lbs and 15oz, 19.5 inches long Megan and Kyle's Birth story: Thursday, May 21, 2026 Kyle and Megan went to the OB clinic to do a routine nonstress test. They weighed her and she had gained 8lbs of fluid in a week and 4+ pitting edema in her legs all the way to her thighs and her hands to where she couldn't feel her elbows down and baby was not reacting. The doctor said 39 week delivery was no longer an option and the projection quickly changed to 1 week, but was told to go to St. Vincent's for further monitoring. At the hospital the projected delivery changed from 1 week to 30 minutes with preclampsia taking over. We had no bags packed, no car seat installed, but at 35 weeks and 5 days we were having an emergency c-section. She has a bigger than normal incision because baby girl did not want to come untucked from under her ribs, but after lots of tugging the surgeon successfully brought our daughter into this world.

Special Notes

Since Megan is type 1 diabetic and celiac a meal train is difficult but now would be great time surround this family with love with gift cards to some of the places they shop at frequently for groceries especially since Sage came 4 weeks early and will need formula until Megan's milk comes in.
