Support for Ally, Ryan and Nora Armstrong

Tecumseh, MI

Story

About our Family and why we need your support: Our daughter, Nora, has been fighting since the day she arrived. She was born early at 30 weeks gestation and has faced medical challenges that no baby - or parent - should have to face. From the moment she entered the world, our lives shifted into constant appointments, therapies, hospital stays and daily uncertainty. Because of Nora's needs, I have had to stop working so I can fully care for her and manage everything medically related to her care. This includes feeding issues, specialist appointments, therapy sessions, hospital visits, and countless unseen tasks that come with advocating for a medically complex child. It is draining emotionally, physically exhausting, and truly a full-time job. My husband, Ryan, has also had to make major sacrifices. He was the only one able to work, but with Nora's appointments and the constant demands on our family, he needed a job with more flexibility. He ended up leaving his previous job to start a new one where he can be more available for us - but that also means he's earning significantly less income right now as he builds his footing. Between the loss of my income, the instability of Ryan's income, and the overwhelming amount of time and energy devoted to Nora's care, our family is struggling under a heavy financial and emotional burden. We are doing absolutely everything we can to stay strong and give Nora the best chance possible. But the truth is - we could use help. Anyone who chooses to support us - whether through donations, gift cards, meals, or simply sharing our story - is making a real and immediate difference for our family. Your kindness helps lighten the load so we can focus on what matters most: helping Nora grow, heal and thrive. Thank you for caring about our family, for supporting Nora on her journey, and for giving us a little more room to breathe. We are incredibly grateful.

Special Notes

Hello, My name is Yvette and I started this page to help my niece Ally, her husband Ryan and their baby Nora. I also happen to be Nora's home nurse and have a firsthand look at the complexities this family has endured since Nora's birth. I see Nora in the home weekly to monitor her medical issues. Her feeding issues are quite complex. She has so many appointments (PT, OT, Peds, numerous specialists) and providers are working together to give Nora the best life she can have during this complex situation. Unfortunately, this family has a long road ahead of them and are facing a financial burden. I would like to advocate for the Armstrong family by asking all of Nora's supporters to please help this family have a great holiday. Anything helps: Prayers, well wishes, meals, gift cards, diapers, wipes, gifts of any kind or amount. I have attached some special dietary restrictions, diaper sizes, venmo address, and their personal address. You can also reach out to me via text or email. 517-499-6706 or [email protected]. Nora has feeding issues that are medically complex and gets her primary nutrition through an NG feeding tube. Her body only tolerates breast milk but even more complicated, she cannot tolerate digesting Ally's breast milk unless Ally eats no dairy. That alone has increased their cost of groceries. Please keep that in mind when donating food. Nora is in size 2 or 3 diapers and tolerates Rascal diapers which can be purchased at Walmart. Ally, Ryan and Nora's address is: 200 N. Occidental, Apt 72 Tecumseh, MI 49286
