Jessica Recovering from Gun Shot Wound and Family Crisis

Story told by Emily Garcia, Jessica Underwood's sister: Anna, my mother, and Jensen my niece had to move in with our family (The Garcias: Noah, Josh, and I) about 5 months ago to remove themselves from some unhealthy circumstances. Jessica, Jensen's mother has sacrificed having Jensen with her to wisely allow herself and Jensen to recover from incurred trauma. While arriving to San Antonio home to take Jensen on a weekend of fun, Jessica was getting out of the car and placing her hand gun into her holster. The handgun was fired unintentionally entering Jessica's thigh and exiting. By God's grace Jensen was sound asleep and Anna was opening the door able to see Jessica in need. Jessica was taken to the hospital and operated on. She is stable and on the road to recovery. Our family was already in a heavy place as we support 2 family member's sobriety journey and navigate healing emotionally from the journey. This has brought financial needs and physical demands that exceed our capability- BUT I must shout of God's faithfulness and trust that our asking for help is good! We will be hosting Jessica through her recovery. She does not have insurance or a job currently. Her husband will continue to work his job in Southeast Texas where they live. I ask that you consider helping in any way you feel lead.
