*I actually felt goofy creating this page, but so many of my wonderful peoples keep asking how they can help me - so I figured this would give ya'll options if you really feel so inclined.* The Sordid Tale ~ My reproductive system has been a tortuous dominatrix from the age of 11. Aunt Flow had a dark side when it came to her unwanted monthly visits from the get go. Debilitating cramps, periods so heavy I became anemic at various points, mood swings that would do Dr. Jekyl and Mr. Hyde proud, and an overall state of extreme discomfort and unease for a minimum of 7 days every month for the last 35 years. (Minus the 9 months when my uterus cooperated just long enough to gift me with my amazing son.) Fast forward to my introduction to Mizz Peri. Short for the fresh hell that is Perimenopause. Mizz. Peri made her bitch ass appearance when I was 38 years old. And her raggedy ass just kept getting meaner and uglier over the last 8 years. The last three years I legit thought I was losing my damn mind. The brain fog was 10 times worse than pregnancy brain; so buckle up gals for that bucket of bullshittery! It is no joke! And Mizz. Peri thought it would be an absolute gas to team up with Aunt Flow and create a whole ass catastrophic mess of my reproductive vibe. My cycle became nonexistent and completely un-trackable. Aunt Flow would show up and decided she was so damn comfortable she'd hangout for weeks at a time. Then she would disappear for a month or two, meanwhile Mizz. Peri is wreaking absolute havoc and destruction with my hormones and my sanity. These bitches ya'll...! My amazing and life altering N.P. Mindy Wade literally saved my existence by working with me tirelessly to find some type of balance with my hormones - and holy hell was it hard won! It took us years to find some semblance of order. And even then, my cycles were STILL relentlessly unpredictable. So being the brilliant Healthcare Professional that she is, she referred me to imaging, and then referred me to an incredible group of physicians at South Valley Women's Health Care. I first met with N.P. Denise Crismon, who took very good care of me and was deeply empathetic. If ya'll haven't had the hellacious displeasure of an endometrial biopsy, there is nothing I can do to prepare you for the pain, trauma, and discomfort. It's next level brutal. Denise performed that procedure and was so kind, even whilst I was crying and cursing. Afterwards, she miraculously was able to get me in the next week with Dr. Blake who looked at my entire history, listened to the years of endless struggles known only to females, and said, "You are a perfect candidate for a hysterectomy." Sweeter words were never uttered. Baddabing baddaboom - and here we are! I'm so excited to get this chapter closed and move forward with a lot less stress and discomfort. Thanks for listening to my TedTalk.
Any of you can do whatever you want in regards to "help". Whether it's food, helping with yardwork, or just coming by to check in and catch up. I welcome all of it with absolute gratitude. I can't do any kind of lifting for 6 weeks and I'm taking at least one week off of work. As far as food goes we're not picky here lol! But my sissy ass stomach does not like dairy; yes it's a travesty. I love each and every one of you, and thank you from the bottom of my heart.
