(Scroll to the bottom for food guidelines and suggestions and their address and phone numbers to text.) Welcome! As many of you know, our sweet Nancy had quite an adventure recently and is now officially in a season of taking things a little slower while she recuperates. ❤️ If you know Nancy, you know that “taking it easy” is probably not exactly her favorite thing! She loves her church, and the ladies’ ministry, being involved, and being surrounded by her people — so we want to make sure she still gets plenty of all of that while she’s recovering. We can’t wait to help her with meals and support and visits to get her through this and show her how much we love her. :) You’ll find at the bottom of this all the suggestions for meals and food since she is so limited in her eating right now. So please use that guideline when bringing a meal. Visits & company will be amazing - coffee, chatting, a movie, sitting around talking, or just some good old-fashioned girl time. Because being stuck at home is a lot more fun when your friends show up! Shoot her a text Rob said to schedule a visit with her! Nancy’s number is (501) 733-5811. And we know she will want to get back to church soon! We already know she’s going to be itching to get back in the middle of everything. But not too fast Nancy. ;) We want you well and whole haha. Prayers & encouragement — don’t forget texts, calls, cards, prayers - because we know Nancy would do this for us. Because she loves us just as much as we love her. And Nancy — no need to organize anything, keep up with everybody, or entertain us. ;) We’re just going to love you, keep you company, bring you good food, and make sure you still get plenty of laughter and fellowship while you get to finally get some much needed rest even if you didn’t ask for it. Now you just have to let us fuss over you a little bit. 😉 ****************************** Meal Train Food Guidelines: We have been given the green light for a meal/support train for the next two weeks! (And will revisit after that as we see if needs have changed etc) Thank you so very much! See the below for suggestions on what to bring and what she can eat. ****************** Because of Nancy’s injuries and very limited mouth opening, she is currently needing foods that are very soft and easy to eat, and some foods may need to be completely blended or puréed. Some ideas could include: • Creamy soups • Mashed potatoes and gravy • Soft casseroles • Chicken and gravy • Pot roast with gravy • Shepherd’s pie • Mac & cheese • Soft scrambled eggs • Cream of Wheat/Rice or oatmeal • Creamy grits • Greek yogurt • Applesauce • Pudding/custard • Smoothies • Protein shakes • Nutritional drinks such as Ensure or Boost • Soft fish • Very tender ground meat with gravy Please avoid crunchy, hard, chewy, dry, seedy or chunky foods for now. If you’re bringing a meal that can be blended, that is especially appreciated. Please label anything that needs refrigeration/freezing and include reheating instructions when appropriate. Please also keep in mind that her husband will be eating with her, possibly her mother-in-law and occasionally another family member may be staying with them and sharing meals. There is absolutely no need to prepare separate meals or make extra work for yourself. A family-sized meal with a soft option for her is perfect. For example, you could prepare a regular meal and set aside her portion to be blended, mashed, or prepared to whatever texture she is currently able to eat. Simple meals and grocery-store items are absolutely welcome, too! The goal is simply to provide the family with an easy meal while they focus on her recovery. When in doubt, please check with the family about what texture she is currently able to eat. Her dietary needs may change as she heals, so what works for her now may be different a few weeks from now. Thank you all for loving on this family and helping make these next few months a little easier for them. ❤️ SCHEDULE: The family has requested we set up a meal calendar for the next two weeks for a meal every other day and then revisit after that. Rob has asked for no sushi and no ketchupy foods. ;) Other than that they aren’t picky and just very grateful. Meals can be delivered to their house around 6 pm and please text before you come. Rob’s number is (501) 733-5810 and Nancy’s number is (501) 733-5811. Their address is 420 West Cadron Ridge rd, Wooster AR, 72181. If you would like to go sit with her or visit her in the next two weeks Rob requests you set up a time with Nancy by shooting her a text. She will also probably be brought to her daughter’s house by Rob several times a week for a bit if he needs to work fyi. And so she doesn’t go stir crazy. Thank you all so so much!!
