My family and I are asking for help with an urgent rent shortage. Last month set us back financially between back-to-school costs and major repairs to our truck. I managed to catch up on rent when my husband got paid again, but then he lost his job on the 19th. Since then, he has been on countless interviews and still has not heard back. At the same time, we are dealing with a prepaid utility account that has been running about $200 a week because of a leak our landlord still has not fixed. We cannot file a claim until those repairs are made. After using his last paycheck to cover August rent, we are now short $340 for this month’s rent, and we need it today. The rent is the most immediate need because I am trying to avoid more late fees and eviction. These last couple of weeks have been very stressful and frantic as we have tried everything we can think of to find a solution. The hardest part has been the loss of financial stability after my husband lost his job, and the tension that kind of stress brings into daily life. Any donation, no matter the amount, would go directly toward helping us cover this rent shortage right away.
