Support for Anna, Ryan, and baby Ellie

Story

Hi everyone, this page is dedicated to this amazing and resilient family who has had quite the year. Anna and Ryan got married in June 2025, and have been dealing with a lot since then and could use some love and support from the community as they are the sweetest, most thoughtful people out there. I have attached some useful links for helping them directly or if we can start a meal train that would be wonderful too. Please get in touch with me (Alina) if you have any questions. Here’s some backstory: In November 2024, Anna was found to have a lesion on her fallopian tube and a spinal mass. She had surgery to get the fallopian tube out and had a biopsy of the mass. (Thank God it was benign!) In December 2024 she came back to work on light duty for a few weeks, then full duty. Plans were made for surgery on the mass in the future but were still working out what kind of surgery was needed and they were monitoring her symptoms. On April 7, 2025 they found out Anna was pregnant! They hoped to get pregnant because of the unpredictability of the mass and the likelihood of not being able to after spinal surgery. Anna worked through her entire pregnancy and on December 5th, baby Ellie was born via c-section under general anesthesia. Anna was unable to have the baby naturally with an epidural or spinal block due to the location of the mass. Ever since baby Ellie was born, Anna has been having debilitating pain in her back, and exactly a month after Ellie was born, on January 7th she went under spinal surgery in Portland. It was an intense surgery (T12-L1 laminectomy), and she has been staying in the Neuro ICU unit.
