Hi everyone, Yesterday, Whitney and I talked about ways we could support Luke and Liberty during this time with Luke’s surgery and the arrival of their new baby. They are two incredible people who pour so much into their family and community, and now it’s our turn to step up for them. When our family was struggling with medical challenges, Liberty — along with others — rallied around us and made sure we felt supported in our time of need. Now, we have the opportunity to return that same love and care to them. 💜 We’ve set up this Meal Train to help ease their burden. A few days ago, Luke was outside playing with the dogs when he slipped on a wooden ramp and broke both his fibula and tibia. He had surgery yesterday, September 22. The surgery took longer than expected, but thankfully it went well. He now faces a long recovery — doctors estimate 6–8 weeks out of work, with 5–6 months before full healing. Since his job doesn’t provide disability pay, this has also placed a financial strain on the family. And on top of all this, Luke and Liberty just welcomed a brand-new 3-week-old baby, while also caring for their 2-year-old and 5-year-old. As you can imagine, their hands (and hearts) are more than full right now. 👉 The family has chosen not to do both a GoFundMe and a Meal Train. If you’d like to help, you can sign up to bring a meal or donate directly through the Meal Train site. Every bit of support means so much and will go a long way in helping them through this season. Thank you for lifting them up with your prayers, love, meals, and generosity. ❤️ ⸻ Message from Mimi (Whitney): As Mimi to these three boys and bonus mom to Luke and Liberty, I can 100% vouch for how much this will mean to them. They are incredibly proud and would never be the ones to ask for help — but any support will be deeply appreciated. Both Luke and Lib are always the first to step up and help anyone in need. The running joke is that Lib is always out doing something for someone — whether it’s cheering at a kid’s ballgame or running from one birthday party to the next. No matter what’s already on her plate, she’s always willing to show up for others. Pax and Hux are growing boys — Hux especially! — and they’re always hungry. Taking the weight of preparing meals off their shoulders, even for a short time, would be such a blessing. This family means so much to mine, and if we can show up to support them the way Luke and Lib so often show up for all of us, it would mean the world. This Mimi is beyond grateful for any help in taking care of all my babies — big and small.
👉 The family isn’t super picky when it comes to food. 👉 Favorites include pasta, Mexican, and pizza — really, just about anything is appreciated! The only allergy to keep in mind is NO ORANGES. 👉 Meal drop-off time is between 5:00–6:00 PM. The address will be shared with you once you sign up.
