Welcome to Team Matt! I’m Linda, one of Matt’s sisters, and along with our big sister, Amy, our little sister, Laura, Mom (aka Granny), and the support of so many wonderful family members and friends, we have created this page to surround Matt, Katie, Pearce, and Caden with love, encouragement, and practical support as Matt undergoes treatment for colorectal cancer. If you know Matt, you know that he’s approaching this challenge with the same determination, positivity, and full-speed-ahead attitude he brings to everything in life. He’s ready to do whatever the doctors tell him to do (yes, really—we’re all a little surprised too! 😊) to get well and get back to living life at full throttle. Our goal is to help him get there. Many of you have walked a similar path yourselves and understand how much even the simplest acts of kindness can mean during a difficult season. A home-cooked meal, food delivered to the doorstep, a gift card for everyday needs, a note of encouragement, or a prayer can ease the burden on a family whose days are often filled with appointments, treatments, changing schedules, and unexpected challenges. Your generosity—whether through a meal, a contribution, a message, or simply keeping Matt and his family in your thoughts—will provide comfort, strength, and support in ways that are truly immeasurable. Katie will be tending to Matt’s dietary needs during this time. Any home made food deliveries are to be dropped off at the garage refrigerator, (door will be open). Any unrefrigerated items are to be placed on the couch opposite the fridge. No drinks are necessary. There will also be a cooler beside the garage door, where items can be placed, should the garage door be closed.
